Part 3

Once the prince arrived at the castle, he had convinced himself that no living person on earth could be as ugly as the rumors say Princess Alessa was.

He was wrong.

When the royal business was taken care of(getting baggage into their rooms, eating, looking around the castle) the queen came out with a veil caped over her head.
"Your majesty," the queen nodded her head as the prince bowed respectfully. "I hope you come bearing good tidings"

"Actually, I've come to meet the princess of this castle." The prince replied. The queen unveiled herself and screamed at the top of her lungs. When her fit of rage was over, the prince saw something he was not expecting.

The ugliest, most hideous, awful face he'd ever seen. It was then that he proved himself wrong.

"Oh madam! Please put your veil back on. I'm going to my room."

The prince sat there for hours. Finally he got up to wash his face in his solid gold basin.

The prince was dumbfounded. If she was what this kingdom called beautiful... what was ugly?

He was scared to imagine.

Even the queen, who's face was hideious beyond compare, thought that the princess was ugly.

He felt sad, because he knew he couldn't spend his life looking at a monster. What was he to do?

Princess Alessa part 2

One day, when Princess Alessa was drawing up in her tower, she heard her Aunt yelling about something. It sounded like her dressmaker did not sew the stitches in her dress evenly... again.

So, Alessa ignored her Aunt's complaining and continued to work on her art. She was a dazzling artist, always painting beautiful pictures. She did not know (she was not allowed downstairs) but Bertha was hanging the paintings on the wall and telling people she painted them. Even so, if Alessa had known, she wouldn't have minded. She was an easy going person who didn't mind being taken advantage of when it came to the little things. Alessa was a graceful, kind, loving person and only did what was best for others, despite her growing up in a tower with a witch for a caregiver.

While the Princess painted, the queen suddenly thought of a big problem in her grand scheme of life. She would die eventually, the princess would come out, and then the world would see what she really looks like. She had to find a way to stop it. But how?

Just as she was thinking this, a handsome young prince, Cristian, from a far off kingdom sat on his throne, lonely as ever. The prince had searched everywhere for a bride, but all that were available were shallow, and only liked him for his gorgeous looks. He needed to find someone who liked him for who he was. He had just begun to feel like it was a lost cause when his most trusted advisor came into the throne room looking excited beyond belief.

"Sire! I have found a princess from a land far away that may meet the criteria that you have put before the princesses!" The advisor, Sir Anthony, was a small man. Weak in muscular department, but he had a presence that filled the room when he spoke. "Her name is Alessa. No one has seen her since her birth, but the rumors are that she is unspeakably nice."

"Why has no one seen her?" Cristian asked confused.

"Well, that's the catch. According to the rumor, she is so disgustingly ugly, that the beautiful queen had her locked up in a tower, as to spare the eyes of the townsfolk."

"No one can be that ugly Anthony."

"Yes, that is what I believe also." Anthony replied. "Would you like to take a trip to meet her?"

"Well, there isn't any other option. So yes. Tell the servants to get the carriages ready. We will leave at once," Cristian said, pretending to be excited for Anthony's sake. Even though he did want a princess who was kind, he didn't want her to be ugly. She didn't have to be beautiful, but ugly was a stretch. But then, maybe he was acting shallow just thinking that. Yes, he decided he was. He would meet the princess and decide then, not based upon her looks, but her actions. And besides, she couldn't be as ugly as they say if the queen is so beautiful.

Princess Alessa

Once upon a time, in a land far away, there was a kingdom was ruled by a wonderful young king named Steeven. Steev for short. (His parents were hippies)

King Steev was a lonely man, so he decided to marry. His search for the perfect bride took years. He searched everywhere, but no bride was to be found. So he took his search to the lower corner of the royalty status. He found a lady named Adelaide. She was beautiful beyond words, but she was betrothed to another prince, though she did not love him. King Steev was in great distress. Besides being beautiful, Adelaide was the most generous, kind, loving person he had ever met. He had to have her if it was the last thing he did. The night before her wedding, King Steev kidnapped her away and took her to his kingdom. Even though kid-napping was not in her initial plan to get out of her marriage, it worked. The two fell deeply in love and had a beautiful daughter that they named Alessa. However, right after Alessa's birth, both parents were murdered by the man Adelaide was supposed to marry. He had searched for a whole year for them and when he found them he killed them right away. After he killed them, he realized no one would care for the baby. Even though anger still stirred for Adelaide, he had nothing to hold against this baby. He contacted King Steev's sister, Bertha, who helped the perpetrator find the couple because she didn't like them, and told her of his predicament. She said she would be glad to come and help out the child. But he knew the only thing she wanted was the crown. In any case, the child would be taken care of. He had done his job.

Alessa grew into a gorgeous young lady, unlike her Aunt Bertha who was as ugly as a toad. Bertha was so jealous of Alessa that she actually changed what the word beautiful meant. She would now be defined as the most beautiful lady in the world. Whenever she went , she wore a veil to hide her "beauty" from everyone, so her subjects thought that she was indeed, beautiful. In addition to calling herself beautiful, she told the townsfolk that Alessa was horribly ugly. And so Alessa was locked in a tower to hide her ugliness from the people. No one knew the truth about her. It seemed no one ever would.
